Getting Started
What FortressPoint Compliance Suite Does
GuideFortressPoint Compliance Suite helps Nigerian and internationally-facing Micro to large enterprise understand where they stand on data protection and information security, and then close the gaps, without hiring a full-time compliance team or an expensive consultant for every question. You answer a guided set of questions about how your business actually handles personal data and manages information security. In return, you get an instant compliance score, a plain-language list of what to fix, and on paid plans the actual policy documents, ready to use. Who it's for: small and mid-sized and large businesses in Nigeria (and, for teams with UK operations or customers) and the UK who need to take data protection seriously because a regulator, an investor, a client, or a board is asking, or simply because it's the right thing to do and they don't know where to start. Frameworks covered: • NDPA 2023: Nigeria's Data Protection Act, and the GAID (its implementing directive) • The Cybercrimes Act (2015 & 2024 Amendment): Nigeria's cybersecurity-relevant obligations • UK GDPR & the Data Protection Act 2018: For businesses with UK operations, customers, or data subjects • ISO/IEC 27001:2022: The international information security management standard, for businesses pursuing security credibility or certification readiness
How-ToHow do I start a self-audit?
From your dashboard, click Start Audit and pick a framework; NDPA 2023, or the Cybercrimes Act. You don't need an account to start: answer the guided questions, and you'll be prompted to save your email at the end so your results aren't lost. Most businesses finish a self-audit in about 15 minutes. You can leave and come back your progress is saved automatically. Note: UK GDPR and ISO 27001 self-audits require the matching framework add-on. NDPA 2023 and the Cybercrimes Act are free to start for everyone.
How-ToWhat's the difference between the frameworks you support?
NDPA 2023 & the GAID — Nigeria's core data protection law and its implementing directive. If your business handles the personal data of people in Nigeria, this is almost always your starting point. The Cybercrimes Act (2015 & 2024 Amendment) — Nigeria's cybersecurity-relevant legal obligations, distinct from data protection specifically. UK GDPR & the Data Protection Act 2018 — relevant if your business has UK operations, UK customers, or otherwise processes the personal data of people in the UK. ISO/IEC 27001:2022 — an international information security management standard. Unlike the others, this is voluntary, not a legal requirement — businesses pursue it for security credibility, client requirements, or certification readiness. You'll notice FortressPoint Compliance Suite uses "aligned" rather than "compliant" language for ISO 27001, since there's no regulator to be compliant with. Most businesses start with NDPA 2023 (free) and add other frameworks as they become relevant to how the business actually operates.

AI & Automation
How-ToHow do I use the AI Compliance Assistant?
The AI Compliance Assistant is included with the Questionnaire Automation add-on. Once you have it, open the assistant from anywhere in your dashboard and ask a question in plain language, it answers using your own uploaded evidence and audit history, not generic advice. If it doesn't have enough evidence to answer confidently, it will tell you plainly rather than guess. Sometimes it will also speak up on its own when you open it, for example, to flag an upcoming deadline or evidence that's gone stale.
Compliance Documents
How-ToHow do I generate a compliance document?
1. Complete the NDPA 2023 self-audit (document generation currently supports NDPA 2023 only — the other frameworks currently offer self-audit scoring and a gap list, with document generation planned for later). 2. From your audit results page, click Generate Documents. 3. Choose what you need: Privacy Policy, Data Processing Register, or Breach Response Plan. Generating documents requires the Compliance Pack plan or higher. Every document is built from your own audit answers, not a generic template, review it before publishing or sharing, especially if your situation is legally complex. Already generated a document and updated your answers since? Regenerate it anytime from the same page, at no extra charge, regeneration isn't limited or metered.
Evidence & Vendors
How-ToHow do I upload evidence to the Evidence Vault?
1. Go to Evidence Vault and click Upload. 2. Choose a category (staff training record, vendor contract, signed DPA, incident log, or other) and the framework it relates to. 3. Select your file (PDF, Word, Excel, PNG, or JPEG, up to 10 MB), and upload. Evidence Vault is included from the Compliance Pack plan up. Within a team, only Admins and Editors can upload or delete evidence, Viewers can see and review it, but not manage it. FortressPoint Compliance Suite tracks how fresh your evidence is and will flag anything older than 12 months so you know what needs a refresh.
Features Overview
Everything You Get with FortressPoint Compliance Suite
GuideSelf-Audit A guided, plain-language self-audit for NDPA 2023, and the Cybercrimes Act, no legal background required. Answer questions about how your business actually works, and get an instant overall compliance score, a section by section breakdown of where you are strong and where you are not, and a clear, prioritized list of gaps explained in plain language, not legal jargon. Compliance Document Generation Once you have completed the NDPA 2023 self-audit, generate the real paperwork built directly from your own answers, not a generic template: Privacy Policy, Data Processing Register, Breach Response Plan, and breach notification documents if you ever need to report an incident. Evidence Vault A secure place to store the documents that prove your compliance posture, signed data processing agreements, staff training records, vendor contracts, incident logs, and anything else you'd want on hand if a regulator or a client ever asked. FortressPoint Compliance Suite tracks how fresh each piece of evidence is and reminds you before something goes stale. Vendor & Third-Party Assessment Your own compliance is only as strong as your vendors'. Assess a vendor yourself, or send them a secure link to complete their own assessment no account required on their end. Get a risk rating and a clear picture of where a vendor relationship needs attention. Staff Training Track compliance training across your team; assign standard topics or write your own, and see completion status at a glance. Built to scale with your headcount, not just your platform seats. Compliance Calendar A single place to see what's coming up: when your next re-audit is due for each framework, evidence that's about to go stale, and (for NDPA) the filing and reporting deadlines that actually carry regulatory weight clearly distinguished from FortressPoint Compliance Suite's own best-practice reminders. Questionnaire Automation & AI Compliance Assistant Received a security or compliance questionnaire from a client or partner? Upload it, and FortressPoint Compliance Suite extracts the individual questions and drafts answers grounded in your own evidence, flagging its own confidence honestly so you know exactly which answers need a closer look before you send it back. The same add-on also unlocks the AI Compliance Assistant; ask questions about your own compliance posture in plain language and get answers grounded in your actual uploaded evidence and audit history, not generic advice. It will also proactively flag something worth your attention (an upcoming deadline, evidence going stale) when you open it. Trust Page A public, shareable page showing your verified compliance posture; a modern alternative to emailing a PDF every time a prospect or partner asks "are you compliant?" Share the link, or embed a live status badge directly on your website or in your email signature. Implementation Guides & Roadmap Every framework comes with a structured methodology guide for actually closing your gaps not just a list of what's wrong. On top of that, get a personalized roadmap built from your specific audit results, with your gaps consolidated into a clear, prioritized action plan.
Team Management
How-ToHow do I invite a team member?
Team invites are available on the Ongoing Compliance plan. 1. Go to Administration → Manage Team. 2. Enter your teammate's email and choose their role: Editor (can do everything except manage the team or billing) or Viewer (read-only access). 3. Click Invite. Only the company Admin can send invites. If the email you're inviting doesn't match your company's domain, you'll see a quick confirmation prompt first; this just catches typos, it won't block a legitimate invite to an external consultant or a personal email address. Ongoing Compliance includes up to 3 team seats. Need more? Contact us about Enterprise. Can't find the invite option? If you're an Admin but don't see it, your company may not be on the Ongoing Compliance plan yet. Check Pricing to upgrade. If you believe you should have access and don't, contact support.
Trust Page
How-ToHow do I set up my Trust Page?
Trust Page is included on the Ongoing Compliance plan (company accounts only). 1. Go to Administration → Trust Page. 2. Turn it on and choose a URL slug (letters, numbers, and hyphens only). 3. Choose whether to show your exact compliance score or a simpler status badge. 4. Save. Your page is live immediately at your chosen URL. Every framework you have completed at least one audit for shows automatically, there is no need to pick which ones to display. Want to share your status somewhere other than the page itself? Grab the embeddable badge code from the same screen to add a live status badge to your website or email signature.
